Veteran Saves Recognizes Seven Financial Institutions with 2024 Designation of Savings Excellence and Community Impact Awards
The Designation of Savings Excellence Award (DOSE) recognizes financial institutions who effectively and actively promote saving strategies during Veteran Saves Week. The Community Impact Award recognizes an organization who use the Veteran Saves Pledge to promote setting a saving goal and making a plan to reach that goal. This award builds on the well-recognized concept that individuals with a saving plan are twice as likely to save successfully.

(WASHINGTON, D.C) February 6, 2025 — Veteran Saves, a program of America Saves, has named seven financial institutions as its recipients of the 2024 Veteran Saves Week DOSE and Community Impact Awards.
Veteran Saves is proud to announce the recipients of the 2024 Designation of Savings Excellence Award and the Community Impact Award, honoring financial institutions and organizations that demonstrated exceptional commitment to promoting financial stability and savings among veterans, service members, and their families during Veteran Saves Week 2024 (November 12 – 15, 2024).
The Designation of Savings Excellence Award is presented to banks and credit unions that went above and beyond to encourage savings by engaging their communities in opening and adding to savings accounts. This prestigious recognition is reserved for financial institutions that made a measurable impact by increasing savings participation.

"Their efforts have made a tangible difference, helping individuals take meaningful steps toward achieving their savings goals."
The Community Impact Award honors an organization that leveraged the Veteran Saves Pledge to help veterans and military families set and achieve their savings goals.
This year’s recipient, Armed Forces Bank, distinguished itself through outstanding efforts in promoting financial readiness and savings behavior within the military and veteran communities.
“We’re proud to present the Community Impact Award to Armed Forces Bank for their outstanding use of the Veteran Saves Pledge and their dedication to helping Veterans set and achieve savings goals,” said Krystel Spell, the Program Manager at Veteran Saves.
“By empowering individuals with a clear plan, Armed Forces Bank has helped double the chances of successful saving among those that took the Pledge, demonstrating significant impact and commitment to our community.”
During Veteran Saves Week 2024, more than 887 organizations participated, reaching over 4.1 million individuals and encouraging nearly $1.7 million in deposits into new and existing savings accounts. Additionally, $418,000 was pledged to be saved toward financial goals for the remainder of the year.
