VETERAN SAVES NAMES SIXTEEN ORGANIZATIONS SAVINGS CHAMPIONS FOR EXTRAORDINARY SERVICE DURING VETERAN SAVES WEEK.
The Veteran Saves Week Savings Champion Award Recognizes Organizations That Made the Greatest Financial Impact on Their Communities During the Annual Veteran Saves Week Celebration.
(WASHINGTON, D.C) February 6, 2025 — Veteran Saves, a program of America Saves, has named sixteen organizations as its recipients of the 2024 Veteran Saves Week Savings Champion Award. This annual, industry-respected award recognizes organizations that effectively and actively promoted saving strategies during Veteran Saves Week.
“Veterans, transitioning military personnel, and their families are facing the additional challenges of an uncertain economy. Even in an unstable financial climate, there’s no better time to start planning and setting goals for financial stability”, said Krystel Spell, the Program Manager at Veteran Saves. “We’re excited to honor these organizations with the 2024 Savings Champion Award. Their commitment to the Veteran Community is making a real difference, and by introducing practical and innovative savings strategies during Veteran Saves Week, they've helped our veterans move towards financial stability. It’s more than just saving money; it’s about giving the community the tools they need to build a secure and thriving future. We celebrate their dedication and the significant impact they've made on the lives of those who've served our nation.”
The sixteen honorees were among nearly 900 participating organizations in Veteran Saves Week, which took place November 12-15, 2024, following Veterans Day. The annual campaign encourages individuals to do a financial wellness check-in, set goals, and take action toward improving their financial stability.
The actions and outreach demonstrated by the Savings Champions substantially contributed to the overall economic impact of Veteran Saves Week, reaching 4.1M individuals and encouraging them to set up a new savings account or deposit into an existing savings account.
In addition to the Savings Champions, Veteran Saves Week 2024 saw a variety of organizations participate in the campaign, including financial institutions, government agencies, local government, nonprofit organizations, academia, and more.
